Woman indecently assaulted by taxi driver after night out in Sydney

A taxi driver has been charged after a woman was allegedly indecently assaulted whilst on her way home in his cab.

Around 1.00am on Friday 23 September, a woman left a licensed premises at Bondi Junction and got into a taxi.

She told the driver to take her to Woollahra, however he allegedly ignored her request and continued to drive along Victoria Road, Bellevue Hill.


Police said the woman desperately tried to exit the taxi, before the driver allegedly indecently assaulted her.

Following ongoing investigations, detectives arrested a 43-year-old man at Paddington Police Station.

He was charged with assault with act of indecency and take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage and is due to face court next month.
