Woman injured in jump from moving taxi

A woman has suffered serious injuries after leaping from a moving taxi in Southport.

She was a passenger in the maxi-taxi which was travelling southbound on Scarborough Street around 1.25am on Monday.

The van was still moving when the woman opened the sliding door and jumped out.

She was injured as she hit the road and has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating.
