A woman who was allegedly locked in a bedroom and choked so severely that she lost consciousness has been injured after jumping from a second-storey unit window while trying to escape the alleged horrific attack.
The alleged domestic assault happened at a unit on Sir Josephs Banks Street in Bankstown about midday yesterday.
“Police will allege a man, known to the woman, assaulted and choked her, causing her to lose consciousness,” NSW police said.

“It’s further alleged the man locked her in a bedroom, before she managed to escape by jumping out a window.”
The 34-year-old woman was rushed to hospital suffering a fractured vertebrae, along with bruising and swelling.
The man, 29, fled the scene before police arrived, however he was tracked down a short time later and arrested.
He has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), intentionally choke etc person without consent (DV), take/detain person w/I to obtain advantage (DV), and dishonestly obtain financial advantage and contravene prohibited/restriction in AVO.
The man has been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
