Woman kidnapped, beaten with a wooden stick in horror 8-hour attack

A man has been charged after he allegedly threw a female friend into a bath, hit her repeatedly with a wooden stick and tried to force her to withdraw money in Sydney.

The 49-year-old woman had planned to stay at the home of a 58-year-old male friend in Padstow on Friday.

Just before midday, it’s alleged the man become argumentative and aggressive and restrained the woman before throwing her in the bath and repeatedly hitting and poking her with a wooden stick.

The woman suffered bruising to her back, arms and legs.

At around 7.30pm, the man then forced her into his car and drove her to a nearby ATM to withdraw money.

However, the card declined so he drove home and told her to leave, which she did.

The woman went straight to the Liverpool Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and police were alerted.

Yesterday, police arrived at the man’s home and arrested him before he was taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage occasion actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today.
