A WOMAN has been killed and a young girl seriously injured after a horror crash in northern NSW on Sunday night.
Police were called to the New England Highway, 20kms north of Glen Innes, around 7.30pm following reports of a vehicle on fire.
“Officers from New England Police District attended the scene and located a Hyundai Tucson which had left the road and rolled several times before catching fire,” NSW Police said in a statement.

A 34-year-old female, who was sitting in the front passenger’s seat, died instantly.
A 10-year-old girl in the back seat suffered serious internal injuries.
The 22-year-old man who was driving also suffered severe burns to his legs and hands, as well as internal injuries.
Both were flown to John Hunter Hospital by Westpac Rescue helicopter for treatment.
The highway was closed southbound for approximately two hours.
A crime scene was established, and an investigation into the crash is underway.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
