A WOMAN has tragically died after being hit by a falling tree branch while on the back of a motorcycle in the NSW Riverina.
It happened on the Snowy Mountains Highway near Tumut on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the tree branch fell on the motorcycle around 3.10pm, killing the 62-year-old woman who as riding pillion.

The rider sustained only minor physical injuries and was taken to Tumut District Hospital for treatment and mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Officers from the Riverina Police District established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
A report will now be prepared for the Coroner.
