A WOMAN is dead and emergency crews are desperately working to free another person, following a horror crash involving four vehicles in northern NSW this morning.
The accident, involving a B-Double truck, two sedans and ute, happened in the southbound lanes of the Pacific Highway, between Pear Tree and Bill Hill roads just before 9.00am.
Police said a woman, who was a passenger in one of the sedans, died at the scene.

Emergency services are now working to free a person from the wreckage.
Authorities said all other drivers and passengers are out of their vehicles and are currently being assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
“The injured are being taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for further treatment,” NSW Police said.
