Teenage girl killed after jet-ski collides with boat in Qld
A teenage girl has died in a horrific accident in waters in north Queensland this morning.
The 17-year-old, who is believed to be an international tourist, was riding a jet-ski when she collided with a moored boat.
“Initial inquiries indicate at about 9.15am a jet-ski rider has collided with a vessel which was moored at the Cairns Marlin Marina,” police said in a statement.
Witnesses rushed to the young woman’s aid and pulled her from the water, however she died at the scene.
Police and Maritime Safety Queensland are currently investigating the cause of the crash.
