Woman leaps to safety as bus collects 13 cars

A woman has narrowly avoided serious injury as an out-of-control bus careered down a street in southern Sydney.

She jumped out of the way, but her trolley wasn’t so lucky, struck by the bus on Cawarra Road in Caringbah around 4.30pm on Friday.

The 58-year-old woman was crossing the road when she noticed the bus coming for her, after hitting a parked car.

It then smashed into another four parked cars before continuing southbound, swiping a further eight parked vehicles.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries.

Luckily, the passengers on the bus were not injured.

The 60-year-old male driver was taken to Sutherland Hospital for assessment and mandatory blood and urine tests.

Investigations are continuing.
