Woman left toddler in unlocked car with engine running

A woman will face court next year after leaving her toddler in a car in Bowral.

About 11.10am, Sunday 15 November 2015, police were called to Station Street, after members of the public found an unattended child.

Upon arrival, police located a 19-month-old child asleep in an unlocked car, with the keys in the ignition and engine running.


Officers from The Hume Local Area Command remained with the child while inquiries were made to locate her carer.

Following inquiries, officers attended a nearby cafe and spoke with a 40-year-old woman.

The woman, from Canyonleigh, was issued a court attendance notice for the offences of leave child unsupervised in motor vehicle and leave vehicle unsecured with engine running.

She is due to appear in Moss Vale Local Court on Tuesday 2 February 2016.
