Woman and man stabbed in separate Gold Coast attacks

A woman is in a serious condition in Gold Coast University Hospital, after being attacked at a home in Burleigh Waters.

Police were called to the property on Snowgum Court at 8.40pm Friday, after a woman had reportedly been stabbed several times.

They found a 56-year-old woman with a number of wounds to her torso and arm.

She was taken to hospital in a serious condition, while Police arrested another woman at the scene.

The 58-year-old Burleigh Waters local has been charged with grievous bodily harm, to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

She’ll be joined by a 53-year-old Surfers Paradise man, who is charged with unlawful wounding following a separate incident.

It’s alleged he got into a fight with a 44-year-old man at a unit complex on Leonard Avenue around 12.40am.

The victim had suffered a large laceration to his arm and was also taken to the GCUH for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
