Female p-plater clocked doing 174kph down major NSW highway

A 23-YEAR-OLD woman on her P-plates has been stripped of her licence and fined more than $2000 after she was allegedly caught travelling at 174 kilometres per hour along one of Australia’s major inter-city highways.

Police said Highway Patrol officers first detected the woman’s silver Toyota Aurion travelling along the Hume Motorway in Sydney at dangerous speeds around 7.20am yesterday.

Officers allegedly clocked the vehicle travelling at 174kph in a 110 zone.

The female driver was subjected to a roadside breath test, which police say returned a negative result.

The woman was issued an infringement for exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, which carries a penalty of $2306, and docked six demerit points.

Her licence was also confiscated and she has been suspended from driving for six months.
