Woman plunges 10 floors to her death from Sydney hotel balcony

A woman has tragically died after falling from a luxury hotel balcony in Sydney’s CBD overnight.

Just after 8pm, emergency services were called to a hotel on Sussex Street, following reports a woman had fallen from a tenth floor balcony.

Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived to find the body of a woman on a level-one rooftop.


Sadly, she was declared deceased at the scene.

Police say the woman is yet to be formally identified, however, is believed to be aged 45.

A 48-year-old man, who is known to the woman, was arrested at the scene and taken to Day Street Police Station, however he has since been released pending further investigation.

Detectives have established a special strike force to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and are appealing for anyone with information or who was in the area at the time to come forward.

A crime scene has been established with investigations ongoing.

It comes after a 19-year-old man died after falling from a balcony in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast on Friday night.
