Woman pushed to the ground, sexually assaulted by man in communal laundry

Police are appealing for assistance following an indecent assault in North Sydney last night.

About 7.15pm, a 36-year-old woman was approached by a man in the communal laundry of an apartment block on Lower Bent Street, Neutral Bay.

The man pushed her to the ground and indecently assaulted her, before she was able to fight him off and he ran from the location.

The woman was shaken during the incident but not injured.

Police were contacted, and despite an extensive search of the area, they were unable to locate the man.

Officers from Harbourside Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 170cm tall, with a slim build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured zip-up tracksuit top, and cream or khaki pants.
