Woman rescued from car wreckage after truck driver spots vehicle down embankment

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after her car crashed down an embankment in the NSW Southern Tablelands.

Emergency crews were called to the Kings Highway at Braidwood about 7.45am today, after a truck driver noticed a Toyota Echo down an embankment.

The driver, a 52-year-old woman, was trapped in the vehicle before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW.


She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established with investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash ongoing.

Traffic diversions are in place with motorists urged to avoid the area.
