Woman seriously injured after falling 10m from overpass

A 23-year-old woman is in a serious condition after she fell about 10m from an overpass at Hunters Hill in NSW today.

Police were called to Burns Bay Road about 3:45am, due to concerns for the woman’s welfare.

Upon arrival, officers attempted to stop the woman as she ran across the road, however NSW police said in a statement a short time ago that she “eluded them and fell about 10m from a bridge onto the on-ramp”.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital where she remains in a serious condition with head injuries.

A critical incident investigation is now underway, with police appealing for witnesses to come forward.

In particular they’re looking for anyone who may have been driving past the incident and may have dashcam footage.
