Woman seriously injured after falling out of moving ute

A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with serious head injuries after falling out of a moving ute on the Sunshine Coast.

Police said the utility was being driven dangerously in wet weather at Mountain Creek when the woman fell from the vehicle just before 1.30pm on Thursday.

The woman was seriously injured after smashing her head on the road and airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for treatment.


It’s alleged the 40-year-old man who was driving the ute at the time was affected by drugs and fled the scene after the accident.

He has since been arrested and charged with dangerous driving whilte adversely affected by an illicit substance and failure to remain at the scene and render assistance.
