Woman seriously injured after pair struck by car at Main Beach

A WOMAN is being treated by paramedics for a significant leg injury after she and another woman were run over by a car at Main Beach on the Gold Coast.

It’s understood the two women were struck on Lennie Avenue just before midday. Paramedics were called to the scene at 11.56am.

An ambulance spokesperson told myGC a woman aged in her 50s had sustained a “significant” leg injury.

The second woman, believed to be aged in her 60s, is believed to have sustained less serious leg injuries.

Four ambulance crews are at the scene, including critical care paramedics, treating both women.

Motorists have been urged to steer clear of the area.
