Woman seriously injured after pedestrians run over at Sydney intersection

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition after she and another man were run over by a car in Sydney’s south-west.

The incident happened at the intersection of Harold and Oxford Streets in Ingleburn around 7.30am on Friday.

Police said the woman and a man, both aged in their 40s, were stuck by a black Ford Focus sedan.


The woman was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital where police say she remains this afternoon in a serious condition.

The man, however, escaped with only minor injuries.

Although in shock, the driver of the Ford Focus, a woman also aged in her 40s, was not physically injured.

She was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Police from the Crash Investigation Unit spent the morning examining the scene and investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
