A man has been charged with deliberately shooting a woman in the face with a spear gun at a house in Melbourne.
Emergency services were called to the home on Cornwall Street in Hallam, in the city’s south-east, just after 11.30pm last night.
Police said officers arrived to find a 43-year-old woman had been shot in the face with a spear gun.

It’s believed the spear pierced through the woman’s cheek.
She was rushed to hospital where police say she remains in a critical condition.
A 46-year-old Hallam man was this afternoon formally charged over the incident.
He faced an out of session’s court hearing today charged with intentionally causing serious injury.
He was remanded in custody to appear in Melbourne’s Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
