A woman has spent seven hours trapped in the wreckage of her car in the Gold Coast hinterland.
The 81-year-old woman is believed to have crashed down an embankment, with the car coming to a rest on its side against a tree 15 metres below a road at Mudgeeraba on Thursday afternoon.
She wasn’t found until around 7pm, when a family member went searching for her after she failed to return from a midday outing.
