A Queensland woman has been stabbed while going to investigate a noise outside her bedroom in the middle of the night.
The terrifying incident unfolded in the Townsville suburb of Thuringowa around 1.15am.
Police say the 29-year-old woman was asleep in her Adler Close house when she heard a noise in the courtyard outside her bedroom.

“She has stepped outside and has been stabbed in right side of her chest by an unknown man who then fled the scene,” Qld Police said.
Thankfully the woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Her attacker is described as 185cm tall, slim build, having a dark complexion and wearing a hooded jumper.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision of the area around that time to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
