Mother-of-five stabbed to death in fourth domestic violence attack in NSW

A MOTHER-of-five has been stabbed to death by her former partner at her home in Sydney’s west in what is the fourth domestic violence attack in NSW this week.

Police said the woman in her 30s was found stabbed inside a house on Moresby Street at Whalan at around two o’clock on Saturday morning.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene for a stab wound to her torso, but her injuries were too severe and she died before she could be taken to hospital.

The woman’s 26-year-old former partner was arrested at the scene and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with murder on Saturday afternoon.

Police confirmed the man was also charged with breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.

It’s understood the woman was preparing to move to the Central Coast to get away from her partner this weekend.

Her death comes after what has been a horror week of domestic violence in NSW.

On Tuesday night, a 34-year-old man was arrested and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly beat his 35-year-old former partner within an inch of her life at her house on the state’s Central Coast.

Sadly, she died in hospital two days later and her accused attacker was found dead in his police cell on Friday before his charges could be upgraded to murder.

Then, on Thursday morning, a woman was found with horrific head injuries at her house at Campsie, in Sydney’s southwest after her partner allegedly bludgeoned her with a hammer and attacked her with a carving knife.

The 34-year-old woman remains in a serious condition in St George Hospital while her 51-year-old partner is behind bars, charged with attempted murder.

Sadly, the horror didn’t end there.

On Friday morning, an 87-year-old was bludgeoned to death at his home, also in Sydney’s southwest, allegedly by his own 39-year-old son.

Police were called to the Memorial Avenue home in Liverpool just before 10.30am where they found the elderly man unresponsive inside the house.

Paramedics tried desperately to save the man, but he could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, over in Western Australia, a 25-year-old woman has died after allegedly being stabbed at a house at Kununurra, in the Kimberley region, shortly after 4.30am on Friday.

She was stabbed in the leg and was rushed to the local hospital in a critical condition where she died a short time later.

A 30-year-old man known to the woman is in police custody, assisting detectives from the homicide squad with their investigation.
