Woman stabbed in the neck in Sydney domestic

A man has been charged over the savage stabbing of a woman inside a home in Sydney’s south-west this morning.

Police say they were called to a domestic-related stabbing at a home on Gemas Street in the suburb of Holsworthy just after 2.30am.


On arrival, officers found a 48-year-old woman with serious stab wounds to her neck.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital in an unknown condition however police say her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 30-year-old man who police say was known to the woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station for questioning.

He has since been charged with assault with intent to murder.

Refused bail, he was scheduled to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.
