Woman stabbed to death in home

A WOMAN has died after reportedly being stabbed in the neck at a house near Newcastle.

In a statement, NSW Police said emergency services were called to a home on Stephens Avenue at Glendale about 11.30am after a woman was found suffering stab wounds.

They arrived at the home to find a 26-year-old woman unconscious and struggling to breath.

It’s understood the woman had been stabbed multiple times around her neck area.

She was treated by paramedics at the home before being rushed to John Hunter Hosptial.

Sadly, though, the woman’s injuries were too severe and she could not be saved.

NSW Police confirmed the woman died a short time later.

The Glendale home has been declared a crime scene and is being examined by forensic police.

No arrests have yet been made.
