Woman struck and killed by car on busy Sydney intersection

A woman has died after being struck by a car on a busy intersection at St Leonards today.

Emergency services raced to Marshall Lane and Canberra Avenue around 11.45am after recieving reports a woman had been hit by a car.

On arrival officers found an 86-year-old woman trapped between a car and a fence.


It’s believed a silver Subaru was attempting to turn when it hit a bollard, then crashed into a fence, trapping the woman.


The driver was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for mandatory blood and urine test.

A crime scene has since been established.
