A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with severe lower limb injuries following a freak chainsaw accident in Queensland.
It happened on a rural property outside of Gin Gin, west of Bundaberg, on Friday.
The woman in her 60s was using the chainsaw to clear away shrubbery with her husband when the chain chewed through her legs.

The woman’s husband applied first aid before paramedics arrived and took over treatment.
The woman was then transported to the local showgrounds where she was met by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter.
She was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital for specialist treatment.
