EARLIER: A WOMAN is suing her young nephew after he accidentally broke her wrist at his eighth birthday party.

Jennifer Connell, 54, is reportedly seeking $127,000 from 12-year-old Sean Tarala, after the youngster jumped into her arms when she arrived at his party on March 18, 2011.

The New York woman claims she loves her nephew but believes he should be held accountable for his behaviour.

The court heard: ‘The injuries, losses and harms to the plaintiff were caused by the negligence and carelessness of the minor defendant in that a reasonable eight year old under those circumstances would know or should have known that a forceful greeting such as the one delivered by the defendant to the plaintiff could cause the harms and losses suffered by the plaintiff.’

According to local media, Sean looked confused as he sat beside his father in court.
