Woman tasered, bashed in terrifying domestic-related home invasion

A MAN is due to face court today after he tasered and bashed two women in a horrifying home invasion in Koonawarra overnight.

About 6.45pm Tuesday 27 October 2015, a man allegedly forced entry into a home at Koonawarra, and began punching two female residents – a 33-year-old and a 58-year-old female, in the face several times.


The man then allegedly produced a meat cleaver and smashed a mobile phone belonging to the 33-year-old.

He then allegedly produced a Taser and used it several times on the 33-year-old before leaving.

Police from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command were contacted and commenced an investigation.

The two female residents were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics. The 58-year-old suffered swelling and bruising to her face. The 33-year-old was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment of a broken nose and a minor laceration to her forearm.

Following investigations, police attended another house in Koonawarra where they arrested a 30-year-old man and allegedly located a Taser.

The man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter with intent to inflict actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (x2) and possess or use prohibited weapon.

He was refused bail to appear before Port Kembla Local Court today Wednesday 28 October 2015.
