Woman to sue producers of Peppa Pig for using her name

AN Italian woman is reportedly suing the producers of Peppa Pig because her name is the same as one of the characters from the hit children’s television show.

Gabriella Capra, 40, claims she has been “teased and made an object of scorn” since the character Gabriella Goat was introduced to the series in 2012, The Guardian reports.

In the episode, Gabriella Goat shows Peppa Pig and family around her village in Italy while occasionally bleating. In Italy the goat character appears as Gabriella Capra.

Ms Capra is demanding $143,000 in damages, saying she she has been taunted by friends and colleagues since the airing of the episode.

Any damages paid will reportedly be donated to charity.
