Woman tries to fly $500,000 worth of drugs into Tasmania

A WOMAN has been charged after trying to fly into Tasmania with a half a million dollars’ worth of the drug Ice taped to her body.

Police allege the 22-year-old Melbourne woman was carrying about 500 grams of methamphetamine, also known as ice, when she was stopped at Launceston Airport on Friday.

The drugs were seized and the woman was charged with trafficking.

She and a male colleague were refused bail over the weekend and are due to face court again later today.
