Woman’s body found at bottom of cliff in Royal National Park
Police have found a body at the base of a cliff while searching for a woman in the Royal National Park.
Emergency services launched a search for a 19-year-old woman who went missing while on a bushwalk with her boyfriend on Wednesday.
The woman’s partner phoned police, telling them that he and his girlfriend had become separated on the walk and that she failed to return to a nominated meeting point.
Police saturated the area and spent the night searching for the woman, but to no avail.
Just after 11.00am today, a body was located at the bottom of some cliffs.
A police operation is currently underway to retrieve the body.
Although the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is that of the missing 19-year-old.
Investigations are continuing.
