Woman’s body found on bank of Sydney river

POLICE are investigating the discovery of a woman’s body, found on the bank of a river in Sydney’s southwest.

The body was found along the Georges River at Padstow Heights around 7.30am on Easter Sunday.

It’s understood the woman is believed to be aged in her late 50’s and was found deceased behind the Beauty Point Retirement Resort on Bernard Road.

Officers from the city’s Marine Area Command helped local police retrieve the woman’s body.

Police said initial inquiries suggest there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.

Officers attached the Bankstown Police Area Command will prepare a report for the Coroner.
