Woman’s car smashed with crowbar in violent road rage incident

POLICE are hunting the driver of an older model brown Toyota Hilux who is accused of smashing another vehicle’s windscreen with a crowbar during a violent road rage incident on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

It’s understood the driver of the Hilux became agitated when a Blue Ford Falcon merged in front while heading north through road works on the Pacific Motorway near Robina.

A witness told us the female driver of the Ford Falcon appeared to have done nothing wrong when the driver of the Hilux began to hurl abuse.

“I noticed him doing hand gestures, speeding up and slamming on brakes,” the witness said. “I also noticed at one point when we were nearly at a stand still that he opened his door threatening to get out of his car.”

The witness was already on the phone to police reporting the unfolding incident when the aggressive driver moved into the left lane and allegedly struck the Ford Falcon with a crow bar as he drove past, smashing the windscreen.

The brown coloured Hilux was last seen heading north on the Pacific Motorway, passing the Helensvale South Exit (Exit 62) around 3.58pm.
