Woman’s Fitbit led police to charge her husband with her murder

A murdered woman’s Fitbit has helped police charge her husband over her death.

US woman Connie Dabate was shot dead at her home in Connecticut in December 2015.

According to her husband, an intruder broke into their home and tied him up, before shooting Connie as she arrived home from the gym, CNN reports.

The only problem was – Connie’s Fitbit told a different story.

CNN says police were able to expose Mr Dabate after his wife’s fitness tracker revealed she was still walking around an hour after he claimed she had been killed.

Dabate is also accused of trying to access his wife’s life insurance policy several days after her death.

He is now facing charges of murder, tampering with evidence, and providing a false statement.
