Woodridge man charged with murder after fatal stabbing

A MAN is due to face court today, charged with the murder of a man who was stabbed in a park at Woodridge at the weekend.

It’s understood the victim, 37-year-old man, was walking along Ewing Road with three other people around 11pm on Saturday, when they became involved in a fight with a group of three other men who had two children believed to be under the age of 10 with them.

During the fight, the victim was stabbed in the neck. He was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition, however passed away three days later.


Following ongoing investigations, officers arrested a 29-year-old man at a home in Woodridge on Thursday afternoon.

He has since been charged with one count of murder and two counts of going armed so as to cause fear.

The man is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.

Police say numerous Queensland Police Service resources remain involved in the investigation including the Logan Criminal Investigation Branch, Logan Child Protection Unit, Homicide Investigation Unit and Scenes of Crime Unit.
