There’ll be several infrastructure developments over the next few weeks on stage two of the Light Rail project, ranging from grinding of the tracks to more lane closures on the eastbound lanes of Smith Street.
Rail grinding will continue tonight at the intersection of Olsen Avenue and Wintergreen/Parklands Drive, with the junction closed from 8:00pm to 5:00am.
Traffic detours will be in place and could possibly continue tomorrow night.

There’ll also be temporary lane closures and speed reductions along Smith Street in the eastbound lanes.
The left lane will be closed between 10:00am and 4:00pm weekdays and two lanes will be closed from 8:00pm to 6:00am from Sunday to Friday in early November.
The speed limit will be restricted to 60km/hour for the duration of these works and motorists should expect delays and are recommended to find an alternative route.
The second platform at the Gold Coast University Hospital station will re-open early next month.
