A CONSTRUCTION worker has been rescued after plunging almost five metres through an internal water tank a building site on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to the East Quay Drive site at Biggera Waters around lunchtime after reports the 33-year-old was trapped after “accidentally walking into a hole”.
The hole, reported to be an opening to a water tank inside the building site, was said to be between 4-5 metres deep.

Fire crews were called and, following a delicate operation, managed to pull the man free without incident.
Paramedics were on standby, although the man was conscious and appeared in good condition.
