Queensland’s first commercial wave pool is being planned for the Gold Coast.
A new world-class resort is being planned in at Parkwood Village, which will see the ‘Endless Surf Wave Lagoon’ built next to the existing 18-hole golf course and the approved future resort hotel.
The wave pool will offer “safe, predictable and quality waves” up to 2.4m, allowing keen surfers from beginners to the more experienced to get involved.

Parkwood Village managing director Luke Altschwager said they will spend the next few months working with the community and local council on getting the project approved.
“There is nothing more quintessentially Australian than surfing,” Mr Altschwager.
“We want to make sure Parkwood becomes the heart of sport here on the Gold Coast.
“A world-class surf break is a perfect fit for our active community as it anchors a whole new level of economic investment into the area.”
The surf pool will be manufactured by WhiteWorld, who have also announced surf park projects in Paris, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam.
It’s hoped the project will be up and running by as early as 2023.
