COOLANGATTA Beach will be a sea of red next Saturday, with hundreds of locals set to take part in a world record attempt.
Organisers of the V8 Superfest REV(D) Beach Party are hoping to set a new Guinness World Record for biggest human outline of a V8 Supercar at the event.
Locals are encouraged to head down to Coolangatta beach from 1pm, and to wear ‘red on their head’. A ‘pit’ crew will be on hand to help shape the car and provide some laughs and entertainment for the kids as they get the participants in position to create the car.

Following the record attempt, a free outdoor concert in Queen Elizabeth Park will kick off at 1.45pm and an easy 3km walk along foreshore will commence at 2pm.
From 3pm, locals can enjoy an entertainment program featuring popular stand-up comic and TV and radio personality, Ellen Briggs and high energy party band Captain Wow.
CEO of Connecting Southern Gold Coast Peter Doggett said the V8 Superfest REV(D) Beach Party is an opportunity to get outdoors, celebrate the Southern Gold Coast beauty and lifestyle, and enjoy some family fun in the sun.
“We hope everyone comes along and whether you wear red on your head or not, you can still join in the beach activities and be part of our human car attempt.
“The event is for people of all ages so bring along the picnic rug, fold up chairs and settle back in the park and enjoy the free entertainment on offer all afternoon,” said Peter.
