The unique accommodation, which is the brainchild of Hostelworld and Destination Gold Coast, will offer two rooms for guests to stay in – an eight-bed dorm and a private double room.
For those who miss out on scoring a bed, there is no need to feel disappointed as there will be loads of facilities for the public to enjoy.
The Sand Hostel’s beach bar and lounge area is set to be extremely popular, with live music to play all day and into the evening. There will be food trucks to satisfy any hunger cravings, plus beach volleyball, surf lessons and beach yoga for those active folk.
Visitors can also take part in sand sculpting classes and learn how to create the sandcastle of their dreams!
No doubt the Sand Hostel will be a sight to see when it opens, with approximately 24 tonnes of sand set to be used to build it. Production designer Jon Dowding, who is renowned for working on movies such as Mad Max and The Blue Lagoon, is the man creating the masterpiece, with World Champion sand sculptor Denis Masoud to build the sand structure and add impeccable finishing touches.
