The world’s oldest-ever giant panda in captivity has died, aged 38.
Officials confirmed that Jia Jia was put down at the Hong Kong theme park where she lived on Sunday after her health rapidly deteriorated.
In a statement, the theme park said that in recent weeks Jia Jia was not eating or drinking and had difficulty walking.

“She was a member of our family and she will be deeply missed… she has served as an important animal ambassador for her species.”
