A Paris-based think tank is behind the Index, created to help young people consider their prospects now and into the future.

64 countries were included in the research which considered things like youth unemployment, work and living conditions, health and wellbeing, economic opportunities, quality and cost of education, housing affordability and the age of elected leaders.
