Young boy attacked by large Eagle during Aussie wildlife show

A horrified on-looker has captured the moment a wedge-tailed eagle attacked a young boy and tried to fly off with him during a wildlife show in the Northern Territory.

The terrifying incident occurred on July 6, while the youngster was watching a bird show with his parents in Alice Springs.

In the photo which was posted to Instagram by Christine, the large eagle can be seen latching onto the child’s hoodie.

“Not the sharpest photo but lucky just to snap it. At a nature park in Alice Springs we decided to go to a bird show the young boy in the green kept pulling his zipper up and down,” Christine wrote in a caption below the image.

“For some reason the Wedge Tailed Eagle did not like it and instead of flying over to the log he is meant to for a photo opportunity he flew straight at the young boy and attacked him.

“The show was quickly cancelled and the boy taken off to first aid.

“Those talons are huge he was a very lucky young boy.”

According to NT News, the boy miraculously escaped with only a small gash to his face.

The eagle has since been withdrawn from the show.
