Young boy charged after stabbing fellow teen at NSW school

A 14-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly stabbing a fellow student at a high school in Orange.

Police rushed to the school about 2.00pm yesterday after receiving reports of a fight.

Upon arrival, they were forced to deploy OC spray to break up a number of fighting students, while paramedics worked on an injured 15-year-old boy.


He suffered a puncture wound to his chest and was taken to Orange Health Service, where he underwent surgery for non-life-threatening injuries.

Thankfully he has since been released from hospital.

Following investigations into the stabbing, a 14-year-old boy was arrested at a home in Orange late yesterday afternoon.

He was charged with reckless wounding in company and granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Monday 31 August.

Police say inquiries are continuign.
