A young Afghan boy who melted the hearts of millions of people around the world when images of him wearing a homemade plastic Lionel Messi jersey went viral, has finally met his idol.
The five-year-old became an internet sensation in January, after his brother posted images of him wearing a white and blue striped plastic bag with the name Messi written on it to Facebook.
The photos were shared and liked millions of times and even seen by the Barcelona superstar himself.

Almost a year later, the adorable pint-sized footbal fan has had his dream come true after he was invited to walk out onto the field with his hero, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
Photos and videos posted to social media show the child and Messi hand-in-hand as they stroll onto the field during Tuesday’s Barcelona V Al Ahli match.
