Young driver killed in car rollover on regional highway in NSW

A YOUNG man has died after losing control of his car and flipping it in the NSW Central Tablelands overnight.

Police said the accident happened on the Mitchell Highway around 10km west of Bathurst shortly after midnight.

Emergency services arrived at the scene to find a vehicle had left the road and rolled.


The male driver aged in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

His male passenger, also aged in his 20s, escaped with only minor injuries.

He was assessed at the scene by paramedics before being transported to Orange Health Services for treatment.

The Mitchell Highway was closed for several hours while the forensic crash unit examined the scene.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to the crash to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
