Young driver killed, passenger injured in NSW crash

A MAN in his 20s has been killed and another injured in a shocking crash in northern NSW.

The accident happened at Bellata, near Narrabri, just after 11.30pm on Saturday.

Police said a Toyota Prado veered off Millie Road and rolled multiple times, 50km north of Narrabri.

The 23-year-old man behind the wheel of the Prado was critically injured and died at the scene.

It’s understood he was a rugby player from the regional city of Armidale, on the state’s Northern Tablelands.

The 21-year-old male passenger was taken to Narrabri Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers from Barwon Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Anyone with any information that could assist with the investigation is urged to come forward.
