A YOUNG man has been taken to hospital after the car he was driving collided with a tree in the small town of Junee, in the NSW Riverina region.
It’s understood the 20-year-old local man was driving east along Gundagai Road when he lost control and slammed into a tree near Tathra Drive around 6.45pm on Sunday.
The vehicle had just travelled into a 100km/h hour speed zone from a 50 zone when the accident occurred.

Emergency services raced to the scene with initial reports suggesting the driver was trapped in the wreckage.
Multiple fire crews attended, along with police and paramedics who treated the driver at the scene.
Miraculously, the young man behind the wheel escaped the impact with only minor injuries.
An ambulance spokeswoman told myGC the man was complaining “numbness and tingling” throughout his body.
He was fitted with a neck brace as a precaution and taken by ambulance to the Wagga Rural Referral Hospital.
He was transported in a stable condition.
