Young girl abducted at knifepoint, sexually assaulted in bushland

POLICE are hunting a man after a 12-year-old girl was abducted at knifepoint and sexually assaulted in bushland during a horrific five hour ordeal.

The girl was walking through Hudson Park in the Newcastle suburb of Adamstown Heights just after 9.15am on Tuesday, when she was threatened by a man armed with a knife.

Police said the girl was sexually assaulted before being forced into a red car and driven to bushland where she was sexually assaulted again.


The girl was then released at Kotara Railway Station by her alleged attacker around 2.15pm.

She returned home and police were contacted with the girl then taken to John Hunter Hospital for medical examination.

A crime scene has since been set up at Hudson Park with investigations underway.

The man has been described to police as being of a solid/large build, and with brown hair.
